A startup helping discover new astroid and resources available on them.
Astroidum is a pioneering startup dedicated to discovering new asteroids and uncovering the resources they hold. Their mission is to make asteroid exploration accessible and meaningful to all. As part of their team, I had the opportunity to contribute to both their web portal and mobile discovery app, focusing on optimizing user experience (UX) to facilitate seamless exploration and learning.
Astroidum faced several challenges in their quest to engage users effectively. The existing web portal and mobile app had usability issues, hindering users' ability to navigate and interact with the platform. Additionally, with the vast amount of data available on asteroids and their resources, finding relevant information quickly was a challenge. Our goal was to address these issues and create an intuitive, informative, and engaging experience for users.
To tackle these challenges, I collaborated closely with the Astroidum team, leveraging user feedback and industry best practices to inform our approach. We conducted extensive user research to understand the needs and preferences of our target audience. Armed with these insights, I worked on redesigning the UX of both the web portal and mobile app.
For the web portal, we revamped the navigation structure, simplifying access to key features and information. We redesigned the interface to highlight important data points and streamline the user journey. Additionally, we introduced interactive tools and visualizations to make asteroid exploration more engaging and educational.
In the mobile app, we focused on optimizing performance and enhancing the discovery experience. We refined the search functionality, allowing users to quickly find asteroids of interest based on various criteria. We also introduced personalized recommendations and notifications to keep users informed about new discoveries and developments in asteroid research.
The improvements implemented resulted in a significant enhancement of the user experience across both the web portal and mobile app. Users reported higher satisfaction levels with the platform, citing improved ease of use and accessibility to valuable information. Engagement metrics, such as time spent on the platform and frequency of interactions, also showed positive trends.
